Edisto Gardens January 2012

A few photos from a recent trip to a favorite destination, Edisto Memorial Gardens, a free park in Orangeburg. Haven't been? Check it out! Take I-26 to exit 145; drive until you get to the McDonald's and Cook Out, each with rotating signs, and turn right; you'll come upon it on your right just after the Burger King. Great place to spend an afternoon! Lots of flora to enjoy; a VERY impressive rose garden (this trip was in January, so no roses, but plenty of other goodies!); a nice pond; a boardwalk through a stretch of the Edisto River, the longest blackwater river in North America; ducks, Canada geese, and other winged friends; and a swing and several benches for taking in a few chapters of a good book.
